PopupDummy!, its popular popup advertisement blocking solution for Windows
95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP.
PopupDummy! is a system utility to block popup advertisements from your web browser and
desktop applications automatically.
With the proliferation of web-based advertisements and popup windows, you may find little
control against those annoying popup advertisements as you surf the web. PopupDummy!
solves this problem by detecting and blocking popup advertisements before you even see
them.
PopupDummy! does not interfere with opening new web browsers and it does not require
any initial setup by the user.
PopupDummy! uses two methods to suppress popup advertisements on your computer.
The default method is by detecting popup advertisements in Microsoft Internet
Explorer before they appear. This suppresses most popup advertisements.
The second method is the user specifying window titles of popup
advertisements. PopupDummy! detects new windows opening and checks if their window title is a blocked
title. PopupDummy! then closes the offending window instantly, giving you an effective
popup blocking solution for not only your web browser, but any desktop application.
PopupDummy! allows you to set specific web addresses as safe. PopupDummy! will
not block any popup windows from a web address listed as a safe site. PopupDummy!
can also be temporarily turned off by simply holding down either the control or
shift key while clicking a link.
